Do you have any friend, Chinese or Indian who has English name's?? Most of them i presume......
You'll have SamyKristnanVelluNathanKarupillayPratab, but you can call him Steve or Dang Zhi Kai a.k.a Eric.....
Before i elaborate what im trying to voice out, let's have a definition of "name"
NAME
-a word or a combination of words by which a person, place, or thing, a body or class, or any object of thought is designated, called, or known.
-Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006.-
English names most of my friend has is quite common like, Daniel, Samuel, Timothy, Andrew for the guys and Rebecca, Jeniffer, Rachel, Karen for the girls......
For Indian and Chinese nowadays is quite common to have English name......mainly because of a few factors:-
1) It's easier to pronounce a person by their English name
2) Some of the Indian and Chinese cultural name is tad bit hard to pronounce and it's quite offensive to the person if you say it wrongly
3) Easier to find in facebook and we can spell the name without any hassle
4) Spell checks can't detect our cultural name spellings
Actually, not only Indians and Chinese have English names, but around Asia like Japan, Korea etc, they, too, have pick for themselves these names. For example, Grant Masaru Imahara(It's a person's name, don't believe, go see Mythbusters)
Don't get me wrong, i have no bones to pick on people who have an English name. It's fine for me but up to a certain extend.......What bugs and annoys me, is that you'll have so people who try to be "special" by choosing something unusual to be their name......
The usage of animal, fruits(some of them)names or things/objects like FISH, WATERMELON, ORANGE, TIGER..... Come on!!!! there's gotta be a better name then this!!!!
I have some friends(more like acquaintance) name themselves with fruits......so fruits i can take like Apple or Cherry but Watermelon Leong???? that's gone tooooo far.......
I was thinking a bit shallow about this topic, but then, something struck me, that some of their English name is associated with their cultural names....mainly Chinese......or almost sound the same as the last name....like mine lah.....
If in that case, then, most of this people should pick something you like or that suits you and not worry that it's doesn't fit your cultural name....
By the way, i still cannot tahan the name Fish Leong. She's a singer born in Malaysia......Dunno why she'll not use her stage name, Jasmine.......Isn't it more sweeter??? it suits more then "Fish".....
Probably is not her fault tho'. Could be her agent or publisher wanted something unique and decided to choose for her "Fish"....good choice......my foot!!!!!
For people who wants to have an English name to add to your cultural name, please choose wisely and try not to take it from inanimate objects because it really does not suit anybody......
Before i end this post, i have a video link on what Chinese people choose for their English name......Quite funny......Thanks to Samanfar and Smacker.......wakakakaka

Mushroom Bloggers
It's been few years (4 years to be exact) i've been blogging.....That time i only knew a handful of my friends like Karen, Jolyn Tan(blog does not exist anymore), who blogged. I started almost the same time as them, only a few months later after them.
NOW, it's becoming a phenomenon as everyone's blogging......Like mushroom after a rainy day.....They keep popping up everywhere......I found out that, almost all my friends are blogging...but, not many stayed or continue to blog.......A lot of them only blog for a certain period of time, then, quit blogging...Kinda sad though, many of them are good and potential bloggers with good and original material.........
Anyway, blogging now has a lot of effects in the mainstream media as blogger's Jeffooi as an example, has become the "REAL voice of the Nation"......Bloggers now has become more and more bold as the internet is not restricted and has the freedom of speech.....The government does not have much power on us bloggers.......We can say almost anything on the cyberspace....
On a related note, many politician and ex-politician are jumping on the blog bandwagon as they have started to post their opinion on the web......For example, our ex-PM, Dr. Mahathir has his own blog........1st day, almost 50k counter hits on his web.......and that is just the beginning....WOW!!! welcome Dr. M to the world of bloggers.
Still waiting if whether Samy Vellu will blog or not as he's quite free after "retiring" from his post.....wakakakaka!!!!
Just wanna touch on this topic as quite a number of my friends have started, quitted and hangat-hangat tahi ayam. Just wanna say that once you started, try not to quit......just keep on blogging.....
Cheers!!!!

Top Ten WORST pick up line
i remember last year i posted a top ten on my blog about Malaysian idol. I thought, what the heck, let do another one........
For today's topic, top ten worst pick up line that people have used before.......
2. "How would you like your eggs for breakfast: scrambled, boiled or fertilized?"
3."What do you say we go back to my place and do some math? Add the bed, subtract the clothes, divide the legs, and multiply!"
4. "You might as well sleep with me because I'm going to tell everybody we did it anyway."
5."Hey babe, do you know that my bedroom is soundproof?"
6."Oh, I'm sorry, I thought that was a Braille name tag."
7."I just want to tell you that you have a price to pay for being this cute, and I'm here to collect... your phone number, that is."
8."Did you know women are like parking spots? All the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped. Which are you?"
9."Can I buy you a drink or do you prefer the cash instead?"
10. "If you've lost your virginity, can I have the box it came in?"
IF you wanna use, t's up to you, don't blame me if you are bitched slap or thrown in prison because of it.....
Cheers!!!!

A very cute love story.......

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he so normal, nobody paid attention to him.
At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home.... suddenly he asked the waiter. "would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."
Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.
She asked him curiously; why you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there". While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.
That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.
Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.
They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!
Then the story was just like every beautiful love story , the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee e, as she knew that's the way he liked it.
After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee.
Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead.I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything..
Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you.
" Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".
Her tears made the letter totally wet.Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee?
It's sweet. She replied.
Love is not 2 forget but 2 forgive, not 2 c but 2 understand, not 2 hear but 2 listen, not 2 let go but 2 HOLD ON !!!!
Don't ever leave the one you love for the one you like, because the one you like will leave you for the one they love.

Freeze for World Earth Day 2008

April 22 is know around the world as "Earth Day" since 1970. The history was a bit(actually very!!!) lengthy, that i didn't bother to read it......if you guys want more info, you can check wikipedia for it.
As you know, if there's any special day, there bound to be some special events and Earth Day has no exceptions as well. In conjunction with Earth Day, People decided to just "freeze" for 4 minutes. Sounds kinda lame huh???
Actually it's more hilarious then you think. Imagine, you, just walking in a shopping complex or the train station, then at the stroke of the hour, you freeze!!!......
People would be wandering, "what the heck????". As you freeze, you'll see other people's reaction towards your action and thinking, "what is going on???"....You'll actually try not to laugh before the 4 minutes and wanna look at their reactions more.....haha
It's no fun doing it alone. People might think you have just escape from Tanjung Rambutan or something. Do it with a group of people or a crowd. This is more fun and you'll remember to the day you die.......or something exciting happens to you.
There is a reason why people just participate in this event. The reason is that the average person globally uses 2255 Watts of power, or a little less than 23 x100 Watt light bulbs. (www.wattzon.org)
Now that’s a lot of power to be wasting. Imagine if we could Freeze the daily activities of as many people as we can for 5 minutes. That’s a looooottt of power we’re saving for the future generations.
If you guys wanna know more or inquire about future events, just click at the links below:-
RandomAlphabets
Earthday.net
To some who are still blur about this event, i'll put a video here of the same event but in another country....

Cute VS Sexy(guys version)
Disclaimer: This post is merely a point of view and does not depicts in any real life situation. If there is any contradiction to viewer's point of view regarding this post, please write it in the comment link below every post.
I've been wanting to post thing age-old question for a while but didn't get around to do it. Well, most of the time i simply forgotten about it. Now, i have the time to spare before Everton vs Chelsea match at 4am, i thought, what the heck....
Here goes,
Cute VS Sexy........
(This is a my(guys) point of view for this topic)
First, we have the definition of both words.
Cute
–adjective: cut·er, cut·est, adverb, noun
| 1. | attractive, esp. in a dainty way; pleasingly pretty: a cute child; a cute little apartment. |
| 2. | affectedly or mincingly pretty or clever; precious: The child has acquired some intolerably cute mannerisms. |
| 3. | mentally keen; clever; shrewd. |
| 4. | Informal. in a cute, charming, or amusing way; cutely: In this type of movie the boy and girl always meet cute. |
| 5. | the cutes, Informal. self-consciously cute mannerisms or appeal; affected coyness: The young actress has a bad case of the cutes. Cute is a good example of how a shortened form of a word can take on a life of its own, developing a sense that dissociates it from the longer word from which it was derived. Cute was originally a shortened form of acute in the sense "keenly perceptive or discerning, shrewd." In this sense cute is first recorded in a dictionary published in 1731. Probably cute came to be used as a term of approbation for things demonstrating acuteness, and so it went on to develop its own sense of "pretty, fetching," first recorded with reference to "gals" in 1838. |
| 1. | concerned predominantly or excessively with sex; risqué: a sexy novel. |
| 2. | sexually interesting or exciting; radiating sexuality: the sexiest professor on campus. |
| 3. | excitingly appealing; glamorous: a sexy new car . |
From my point of view, it's easier for me to show pictures first as can catch my drift on my definition of cute and sexy girls. This post is more towards how the girls look and their action that make them what they are.
- All(almost) cute girls need not put a lot of effort to look their best as they already have natural beauty. (Lala Mui does not count as being cute but irritating. trying their best act cute). From my point of view, cute girls does require must make-up to look their best. It's simply built in them.
Where else, sexy girls tend to put more make-up then usual as they need to look, not to mention, high maintenance for their sexy looks.I'll say, if you have the figure, anyone can look attractive, no matter how you look.
- When a guy see sexy girls, their eyes will tend to stare as long as possible, and to a certain extend, even drool. Their eyes cannot stop gazing the "assets" in front of them. We'll check from top to bottom for any flaws.Even worst, our other head is doing the thinking, if you know what i mean.
As for cute girls, if any guys does happen to pass one, they'll(i personally) feel like very warm and fuzzy all over and you tend to smile after just a glance. If you don't have guys goggling you left and right, up and down, then you can be considered a cutie.(Cute girls's smile really makes my day.)
- Best part of cute girls is that they can switch to being sexy easily. Just a change in clothes, as sexy as you can get, a touch of make-up and Voila!! A recipe for a sexy hot mama!!!!
Sexy girls can't transform to cute as most of them do have the looks to pull it off. Some attempts have been tried but most of them fail as they turn into Lala Mui;s. Haha!!!Just joking. But seriously, i have yet to see a sexy girl turn over a new leaf into a cute girl. I don't it can be done.
- Some guys (actually most of them) prefers sexy girls like on the magazines such as Cleo or FHM as it's like a benchmark for what guys look for or girls to follow. I could be wrong but the mass media does however, have some affect to a certain degree.
As for me, personally, i prefer cute girls rather then sexy ones because for me, simplicity is still the best. Nothing to fancy for me. Haha (not promoting myself, mind you!)
In the end, it's really up to your own choice to choose to follow your heart or the mainstream. I can't decide on your preference as im just human, still learning and still making mistakes as i go on my road called life.
To all girls, cute or sexy, it's your choice and do follow your heart in what you wanna become.
Hope that my post gives you a little knowledge.
Cheers..........

Taggedzzzz.......
It's been a while since someone actually tagged me......well, since i got nothing better to do(nothing to watch on the internet), i decided to "tag" along (no pun intended) in this post......
'This is from Karen's blog, she tagged me yet again......'
Here goes,
Rules:
1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves
3. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, than goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they done got tagged and to ask them to play and read your blog.
5 things I was doing ten years ago.
The year was 1998, i was 12 years old (i think).....So much stuff happened that year and i don't think 5 is enough for me narrow down to that figure.....I'll try my best....
-Studying!!!! believe you me, i actually excelled in my studies and gotten surprisingly good grades for my UPSR....Thank God for that.....i was fooling around before, and i transfered school that year. So, without much friend that year, as i was quite a shy guy that time, i had nothing better to do than study.....
-Started to like football (soccer for the US of A) watching, playing and decided to pick an English team, Manchester United. as everyone in my school that time have already supported an English team.
- Learn to use the computer......Was a late bloomer at technology as i even didn't know how to you the 'mouse'....what a hilarious experience but eventually got a hang of it thanks to CS(Counter Strike)
- Trying to lose weight. What do you expect??? A chubby 80kg, 4ft 11 kid, being left out of sport and tormented by small, skinny kid who is half my size......eventually, my testosterone kicked in a bit earlier the following year and drop a few kilos and shoot up several inches...haha
-Walking back from school. It's a feat that i somehow manage to accomplish as all this (past) years, i relied on my "Uncle bus" to transport me from and to school
5 things on my to-do list today.
Technically, it's already Monday (April 14)......
-Find a better job then my previous ones....Having no progress and movement in my previous job, so i decided to seek better opportunity
-Eventually fix some "bugs" on my blog......Freaking hard as the codes are all in xml instead of html, which i know nuts about it and to make matters worse, i have no freaking knowledge about it as i was still in "blur mode" using html
-Practice and perfecting my "running man" (shuffling term for a move in Melbourne shuffle)yes, im into this stuff as i find it interesting although it's still in the "underground" stage and not so popular in the current dance culture in the world.......
-Cleaining up my room.....Still in a bit of a mess, but since i have the time, then, why not??
-Levelling up my character in a Facebook application.....Im addicted to this and need my daily fix of "poking", "whacking", and "killing" other people.......
5 guys that I adore.
(What the heck??? im changing this one)
5 guys girls that I adore.
(Much better.....XD)
-Karen Lim....i don't know why, but she's OK as she's like one of the "guys" when we hangout. You can talk to her about almost anything from guys stuff to "other" guys stuff. Not many girls have that type of character, heck, i don't even know anyone else as "guy-ish" as her......haha
-Suemitraa.......weird huh??? her name in my list.......i admire her for a carefree spirit and "knows no bound" attitude and careless about what people have to say about her.....You either fight along side with her or die trying to fight her.....(im over-exaggerating this part)
-KimKim...simply put her here as she's nice to be bully (no physical injuries of course). Only person i can share recipes with......still haven't tasted her cooking yet.......Sudah makan my cake, bila i wanna rasa yours????
-Jolyn Tan......my course mate and 5th sem "Cousin".....This Char Boh damn strong wei!!!! not physical lah but mentally lah.....still need improvement but she's alright to talk to about anything....
-My mom lah......words cannot describe this....
5 of my bad habits.
Standard stuff lah...
-Picking my nose not in public of course!!
-Counting how many hairs i have on my chin
-Drinking (the good stuff and the bad stuff)...not a good drinker by the way......
-Keep fingernail clipping.....Not just any fingernail clippings, but freaking long ones.....damn sayang wei to throw them after growing them so long.....i got only 2 of them.....
-I love the smell of petrol....don't know why, but it's kinda nice and feels like...you know lah.....no need for me to elaborate on it.....
5 places I have lived
-Seksyen 8, PJ
-SS 3
-SS 4
-PJS 10 (1/2 PJ, 1/2 Sunway)
- I never live anywhere other then PJ
5 things I'd do if I could change the world
If i were made President of this world......errr....sorry wrong speech.....Just daydreaming if i actually had that kind of power....
- Zero poverty ....Getting rid off poverty.....hate to see the richer getting richer, the poorer getting poorer.....Everyone will have to opportunity to live happily together with a moderate standard of living
-A cleaner environment........Ban Pollutions and anything that harms the environment......Freaking pollution due to us human is to be blame have effected our earth so much.....Love to have a great place for a our future generations to come....
-Equal opportunity.......Everyone has the chance of being somebody in the world base on their effort put in and not by external factors....
-Make love, not war.......Peace and harmony......No war and at the same time, save our country a huge amount off money which could be put to better use instead of buying subs, fighter plane and definitely not sending people to space and be called by NASA as "Space Flight Participant"
-Ban corruption.......Nobody can give "gifts" in return off "favours".... This world would be a better place without this scumbags.....
5 people I tag.
- Phui wan
- Aileen
- Jacob
- John Foo
- Kit Leen

Earth Hour 08'

from wikipedia.org
Origin
Earth Hour, under the working title 'the big flick', was conceived by members of WWF-Australia's communication team in December 2005 as a possible campaign to engage all parts of the Australian community on the need to address climate change.
A partnership was formed in August 2006 between WWF-Australia's Andy Ridley, Leo Burnett's Nigel Marsh and Fairfax Media's Phil McLean with a planned campaign date of early 2007. Earth Hour was launched publicly as a Sydney-only event on December 16 2006 by Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore and took place at 7.30pm on March 31 2007.
Following significant interest from both inside Australia and around the world, Earth Hour was formed into a non-profit entity owned by WWF-Australia, Leo Burnett and Fairfax Media. The decision was taken to make Earth Hour an open source model, allowing any genuinely interested individual, company, media or government anywhere in the world to adopt the campaign for 2008.
This is an event that participating countries is said to switch of their power for one hour in order to help the earth due the the alarming rate of global warming around the world....
Sort of a "protest" against global warming.....An awareness campaign so-to-speak
It is said to save at least 10% decrease of consumption of energy......Last year's Earth Hour, 68,506 individuals and 2,270 businesses registered their intention to participate on the Earth Hour website. It was also part of a wider awareness campaign that aimed to reduce Sydney's carbon emissions by 5%......
This year, All over the continent, more and more countries has join in the Earth Hour 08'.....Countries like, Australia, Philipines, Thailand, Canada to name a few has made their strong stand against golbal warming.....
How about for the individual of you and me with all the ah beng and ah lian you say??
Well, it's simple....
On 29th March 2008, at 8.00pm (Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong time), All you have to do is just switch off every electrical appliances for one hour (No playing facebook that time.....) then leaving them on stand-by....
Think off it, By conserving energy for one hour, this how much you save on your electric bills....
So, everyone, do your part for our earth as you future generations also need to leave in it....So, don't be so selfish and only think about youself....
Cheers!!!!!

It Hurts!!!
Just focusing my energy on writing this short blog as i in a lot pain........ouch!!!!
Yesterday, with a few of my futsal buddies that i befriended from Sunway University College went to a futsal tournament organized by their fellow engineering friends.......I was the "illegal immigrant" there......what they don't know can hurt them rite???
Anyway,(still in pain) i played like there's no tomorrow, kept on falling , tumbling, diving........keeper mah what you expect?? LoLzzz.....
(Sorry, i don't want to put any picture as it's to graphical, beside, why do you wanna see my misery...LoLzz)
I played in 4 games, as a keeper, my captain says that i have no sub and will continue on, i was like, crap!!!(still in pain) But that really doesn't matter to me as im used to playing a full game.....
I was playing my usual game, when in the first game, one bloody fella came towards me as i was already grabbing the ball that was in my reach. That fella's knee came in and knock my thigh...... Could not feel in at first but as the game progress, the pain kept on creeping in like some one piercing my thigh......
After countless saves in 4 games, my left and right arms also almost gave up on me and every shot that my hands absorb, i can feel the numbness, (mahder!!!!! whack the ball nobody's world)
After the games finish, my back is in pain as my neck muscle is in pain......It's like i've just be through a car accident and still walking, thank God for that!!

Teen Marriage.....

hmmm.......An issue that has been lingering in my mind for a while now.....i've been researching about this issue for quite a while because a few (actually 1/20 of my friends) are already married with kids....I had a few gathering, like weddings, chinese new year, reunion, etc and i was surprised that quite a number of my school friends, cousin etc are with one or two kids....they'll be carrying them everywhere and some are pregnant.....
I was shocked when i saw them....friends of my age or younger already carrying a child or two.....so young already married with kids!!!!
Then, i went to do a research on the internet (google is my best friend)....and the i found out that there are several factors that instigate teen marriage......

1) OMG!!! she's getting a baby!!!
Well, the caption says it all......What i found out that why teens get married at a young age is because the girl is currently eating for two person. How could this happen you might ask???? DUH!!! she had sex....LOLZZ....Teens doing it is quite common nowadays in the world..... but some are dumb enough to not use protection and you know the rest......wanna know more of the statistic, you can go to this website -link-
I think i blogged a post about this before where my cousin got married because of this....let me post the link here

2) I want freedom!!!!
Well, only way for people to be free from their parents is to elope into the sunset.....being free from the cage from 20 years that you call 'parents'... A lot of people do not think of their future but just think of getting what you can in a short period of time but fail to think of the consequences of their actions in their future......

3) I love her/him too much

MIA for two weeks
I gonna go to JB in just a few hours because of work commitments.........so anything, i'll be updating my blog as frequent as i can......
This past one month ++, i've been going north, south, east, and west of penisular Malaysia working......
Didnt have much time to even go online to chat, yet alone blog....
I was in Kuantan last month and just before Raya, i was in Batu Pahat.......I couldn't survive in BP because of the language barrier as people there does not speak english nor cantonese....... all will be mandarin or malay.....
People there mind you, especially chinese, can speak good malay without and "apek" accent....I was amaze but could talk to them in malay as i felt awkward.......(WHO doesn't???? a chinese speaking malay to another chinese.....)
but in Kuantan was nicer as people there speak what i speak.....so communication is smooth and people understand each other....
Sorry guy, i can't put any pictures in my blog as my bloody camera's screen broke and now i have no time to replace it.....may be after i come back from JB.....
There's nothing much i can write as im gonna go off soon........may be after im back, i'll write and put some of my road trip pictures on my blog.....
Cheers!!
