Datuk Bollywood??

Few days ago, i came across an article about the datukship awards on the Sultan of Malacca's birthday last Saturday.....for everyone who is still blur......Every time when our Sultan has a birthday, datukship is always given out....normal lah for anyone who originated from Malacca and has done something to promote either our country to the world or their contribution towards our country........or if you happen to be married to royalty or even a person who has Datukship status....then you're next in line......

I was suprised that the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) was awarded to Shah Rukh Khan.....

MALACCA: Popular Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is among 77 people to be conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title Datuk, in conjunction with the 70th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob today.

That's right....SHAH RUKH KHAN!!!!!

I was, like, WTF?????

The the Chief Minister(CM) and explain that Shah Rukh Khan's movie, One 2 Ka 4 has scenes of Malacca.....i watched it before i just glance through the Malacca scene very fast.....dunno if you call that "promoting Malacca"....For further details, please ask Tun Daim Zainuddin....

Pretty dumb if you ask me....simply giving out Datukship...

oh wait.....Malaysia Boleh!!! lolzzz everything also boleh

If that's the case of "promoting the country", there a lot more candidate for Datukship in the near future that are not Malaysia....

1) Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones in Entrapment

If anyone deserve Datukship, is either one of them.....this movie has scenes of KLCC twin tower from start to finish.....compare to One 2 Ka 4......few scenes here and there only......but i think that won't be the case as Sean Connery is already knighted.....but, in Malaysia, you can be Sir Datuk Seri Thomas Sean Connery......and who wouldn't like Datuk Catherine Zeta-Jones......kinda lame...huh??

2) Chow Yun Fatt and Jodie Foster in Anna and the King

This movie was filmed in Malaysia, all the supporting cast are mostly local actors, can say buatan Malaysia. Even the premier was in Malaysia.....not only both of them should get Datukship, also the people behind the movie, the directors, producers, all the actors, and the person suggested the place......What??? correct what......this movie got Oscar normination you know?? It's like Lee Chong Wei winning silver in the olympic.....almost the same what.....Datukship given to second best.....no offences to Datuk Lee Chong Wei.....

3) Jackie Chan in Police Story 3: Supercop

Michelle Yeoh has it, for sure Jackie Chan's Datukship award will come soon.....This movie promote KL tower, Bukit Bintang and the Golden triangle.....the Malaysia scene was running about half the movie......Not enough of "promoting" time...i don't think so...

I think they are more worthy to receive Datukship if the criteria is "just" to promote Malaysia.....Im promoting Malaysia through my blog and you don't see me getting any awards of Datukship.....lolzz....

PS. I dont think Datukship is equvilant to a knighthood......it's like a malay proverb, Bagai langit dengan bumi (it's like comparing heaven and earth)

[untitled] -rant post

Suddenly got the urged to blog at 6am.......got insomnia this full day due to the new project im doing currently......Only been sleeping a few hours a day.....zzzz

Lately, been feeling a bit isolated....towards girls especially. Last time, i'll be smiling to them, they smile back, striking a conversation with them, having a nice yamcha session, hanging out, etc....

Now, it's not even 'hi-bye' anymore.......just walk past and not say anything.......not even an eye contact and the worst part is......been given the cold shoulder.....brrrrr

Most girls are famous for this, especially the decent-looking-above-average type of girls.....that's ok coz you girls don't want to mix with the low-life type of people you call guys.

I understand, but the worst part is, the fugly ones that are their friends also gives you the same cold shoulders......seriously........(pause)

I have no idea why this happened.....i started getting this last month, dunno why.....as if they knew about the skeletons in my closet came out.....everyone has skeletons in their closet and it being revealed really sucks....thats how i feel lah.....no one will ask or enquire from you and just keep their distances from you......most cases, if they do ask you, you'll just denied it just to sav face......

I admit, i do have some stuff that even my closest friend even have no idea.....Everyone has their secrets and it's not for the public eye to know about it......I'll bring it to my grave then revealing it to anyone......

For sure it wont be in this blog.......NO FREAKING WAY!!!!

Anyway, it's just something that i need to get off my chest.......most girls are ice queens......too high and mighty.......*pui*

look in the mirror and this time look properly before you pass judgement on other people and put yourself iin my shoe.....you'll see you are know different then other people.......

Eat more and lose weight

Lose weight by eating!!!...... WoW!!!Heaven for glutton and foodies alike.....(including me!).....Sarah wrote on her blog about food and feels a bit guilty after gobbling everything (i digress a bit..) and wanted to lose weight by execising.....but don't have much determination to do it.....

Well, Sarah, today is your lucky day(if you're reading this.......dun worry, this includes me also.....)

20 superfoods for weight loss

by Self Magazine, on Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:12am PDT

It's time for a new slim-down mantra: Eat more to weigh less. No joke! The right foods help you drop pounds by revving your calorie burn and curbing cravings. We consulted top experts for the best picks and asked leading chefs for easy, tasty ways to prepare them. Add these eats to your plate today and you'll be slimmer and healthier in no time! By Camille Noe Pagán

Curbing hunger is as easy as piling your plate with this whole grain. It packs both fiber (2.6 grams per 1/2 cup) and protein, a stellar nutrient combo that can keep you satisfied for hours, says chef Sarah Krieger, R.D., spokeswoman in St. Petersburg, Florida, for the American Dietetic Association.

Eat more Serve quinoa instead of rice with stir-fries, or try Krieger's take on a scrumptious hot breakfast: Cook 1/2 cup quinoa in 2/3 cup water and 1/3 cup orange juice for 15 minutes. Top with 1 tbsp each of raisins and chopped walnut

*Never seen it before in my life but it does resemble a bit like couscous*

Steak

Beef has a rep as a diet buster, but eating it may help you peel off pounds. In a study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, women on a diet that included red meat lost more weight than those eating equal calories but little beef. "The protein in steak helps you retain muscle mass during weight loss," says study author Manny Noakes, Ph.D. Try to consume local organic beef; it's healthier for you and the environment.

Eat more Grill or broil a 4-ounce serving of top round or sirloin; slice thinly to top a salad, or mix with veggies for fajitas.

*Wow!!!! i heart steak...mmmm.....best diet food ever!!!*

Eggs

Dig in to eggs, yolks and all: They won't harm your heart, but they can help you trim inches. Women on a low-calorie diet who ate an egg with toast and jelly each morning lost twice as many pounds as those who had a bagel breakfast with the same number of calories but no eggs, a study from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge reports. "Egg protein is filling, so you eat less later in the day," says David Grotto, R.D., author of 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life (Bantam).

Eat more Omelets and scrambles are obvious choices, but if you can't cook before work, bake a frittata on Sunday; chill it and nuke slices for up to a week. An easy recipe: Vegetable Frittata.

*Self-explanatory....but once a day should be fine...... *

Kale

Long sidelined as a lowly garnish, this green belongs center stage on your plate. One raw chopped cup contains 34 calories and about 1.3 grams of fiber, as well as a hearty helping of iron and calcium. But kale's earthy flavor might take some getting used to. Spinach, another nutrient powerhouse, is a milder-tasting option.

Eat more Mix chopped raw kale into cooked black beans, says Jennifer Iserloh, founder of Skinny Chef Culinary Ventures, in New York City. Or slice kale into thin strips, sauté it with vegetable broth and top with orange slices. Make it a meal by tossing the mix with quinoa.

*looks like cabbage to me.....still nice ;) *

These chewy, tart berries have a hunger-curbing edge over other fruit: 18 amino acids, which make them a surprising source of protein, Krieger says. (They also have more beta-carotene than carrots.) Snack on them midafternoon to stay satisfied until dinner. The calorie cost? Only 35 per tablespoon.

Eat more Mix 1/4 cup of the dried berries (from health food stores) with 1/4 cup raisins and 1/4 cup walnuts for a nourishing trail mix. Or for dessert, pour 1/4 cup boiling water into a bowl with 2 tbsp dried berries; let sit 10 minutes. Drain, then spoon over 1/2 cup lowfat vanilla frozen yogurt.

*ask your mom...sure she'll know.....it's that small bits of red seeds in herbal soups or chinese-style clear broth*

Buckwheat Pasta

Soba Noodles

Buckwheat pasta/Soba Noodles

Swap plain noodles for this hearty variety; you'll slip into your skinny jeans in no time. "Buckwheat is high in fiber and, unlike most carbs, contains protein," Zuckerbrot says. "Those two nutrients make it very satiating, so it's harder to overeat buckwheat pasta than the regular stuff."

Eat more Cook this pasta as you do rice: Simmer it, covered, over low heat. For a light meal, toss cooked buckwheat pasta with broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and onions. Or make buckwheat crepes using our tasty recipe.

*Both are derived from buckwheat which is totally different from the normal wheat that we are used to see or consuming. I love soba during summer times.....heck, everyday also summer here....all the more reason for me to enjoy...lolzzz*

Almond butter

Adding this spread may lower bread's glycemic index (a measure of a food's effect on blood sugar). A study from the University of Toronto found that people who ate almonds with white bread didn't experience the same blood sugar surges as those who ate only the slice. "The higher blood sugar levels rise, the lower they fall; that dip leads to hunger, causing people to overeat," says study author Cyril Kendall, Ph.D. "Furthermore, blood sugar changes cause the body to make insulin, which can increase abdominal fat."

Eat more Try it for a change from peanut butter in sandwiches, or make a veggie dip: Mix 1 tbsp almond butter with 2 tbsp fat-free plain yogurt, Iserloh suggests. Or add a dollop to oatmeal for flavor and protein.

*Think of it like your regular peanut butter but only more flavorful and richer in taste.*

Pomegranates

The juice gets all the hype for being healthy, but pomegranate seeds deserve their own spotlight. In addition to being loaded with folate and disease-fighting antioxidants, they're low in calories and high in fiber, so they satisfy your sweet tooth without blowing your diet, Krieger says.

Eat more Pop the raw seeds on their own (many grocery stores sell them preshucked) as a snack at your desk. "Use them in salads instead of nuts," Iserloh says. "They're especially delicious on raw baby spinach with lemon–poppy seed dressing." For another take on the seeds, use our easy recipe for sweet and spicy pomegranate salsa.

*Not really a big fan of this fruit*

Oats

"Oatmeal has the highest satiety ranking of any food," Grotto says. "Unlike many other carbohydrates, oats—even the instant kind—digest slowly, so they have little impact on your blood sugar." All oats are healthful, but the steel-cut and rolled varieties (which are minimally processed) have up to 5 grams of fiber per serving, making them the most filling choice. Instant oats contain 3 to 4 grams per serving.

Eat more "Instead of using breadcrumbs, add oats to meat loaf—about 1 cup for a recipe that serves eight," Iserloh recommends. Or try her recipe for turkey and oatmeal meatballs.

*Good for the heart.....love it with strawberries and milk.....eaten like cereal*

Lentils

Lentils are a bona fide belly flattener. "They're high in protein and soluble fiber, two nutrients that stabilize blood sugar levels," says Tanya Zuckerbrot, R.D., author of The F-Factor Diet (Putnam Adult). "Eating them helps prevent insulin spikes that cause your body to create excess fat, especially in the abdominal area."

Eat more There are many varieties of lentils, but red and yellow cook fastest (in about 15 to 20 minutes). Add cooked lentils to pasta sauce for a heartier dish, Zuckerbrot suggests. "Their mild flavor blends right in, and because they're high in protein, you can skip meat altogether."

*i love it as a snack and also as dhal curry with roti canai in the mornings or lunchtime*

Not only do fish fats keep your heart healthy, but they shrink your waist, too. "Omega-3 fatty acids improve insulin sensitivity—which helps build muscle and decrease belly fat," Grotto explains. And the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns. Opt for wild salmon; it may contain fewer pollutants.

Eat more You don't need to do much to enhance salmon's taste, says Sidra Forman, a chef and writer in Washington, D.C. "Simple is best. Season a fillet with salt and pepper, then cook it in a hot pan with 2 tsp oil for 1 to 3 minutes on each side."

*fried, stimmed, sahsimi, sushi, grilled......good!!!*

Apples

An apple a day can keep weight gain at bay, finds a study from Penn State University at University Park. People who chomped an apple before a pasta meal ate fewer calories overall than those who had a different snack. "Apples are high in fiber—4 to 5 grams each—which makes them filling," says Susan Kraus, R.D., a clinical dietitian at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Plus, the antioxidants in apples may help prevent metabolic syndrome, a condition marked by excess belly fat or an "apple shape."

Eat more Apples are the ideal on-the-go low-calorie snack. For a pielike treat, chop up a medium apple and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp allspice and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Pop in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes.

*An apple a day keeps the Doctor away*

Blueberries

All berries are good for you, but those with a blue hue are among the best of the bunch. They have the highest antioxidant level of all commonly consumed fruit, according to research from the USDA Agriculture Research Service in Little Rock, Arkansas. They also deliver 3.6 grams of fiber per cup. "Fiber may actually prevent some of the fat you eat from being absorbed because fiber pulls fat through the digestive tract," Zuckerbrot says.

Eat more Instead of topping your cereal with fruit, fill your bowl with blueberries, then sprinkle cereal on top and add milk or yogurt, Iserloh recommends.

*Blueberry cheesecake....not as good as strawberry cheesecake, but it'll do.....*

Chillies

One reason to spice up your meals: You'll crank up your metabolism. "A compound in chiles called capsaicin has a thermogenic effect, meaning it causes the body to burn extra calories for 20 minutes after you eat the chiles," Zuckerbrot explains. Plus, "you can't gulp down spicy food," she adds. "Eating slowly gives your brain time to register that your stomach is full, so you won't overeat."

Eat more Stuff chiles with cooked quinoa and marinara sauce, then roast them. To mellow a chile's heat, grill it until it's almost black, peel off charred skin and puree the flesh, Krieger says. Add the puree to pasta sauces for a one-alarm kick. Or stir red pepper flakes into any dish you enjoy.

*Hot and as spicy as you can make it....*

Yogurt

Dietitians often refer to plain yogurt as the perfect food, and for good reason: With its trifecta of carbs, protein and fat, it can stave off hunger by keeping blood sugar levels steady. In a study from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, people on a low-calorie diet that included yogurt lost 61 percent more fat overall and 81 percent more belly fat than those on a similar plan but without yogurt.

Eat more "Use lowfat plain yogurt instead of mayonnaise in chicken or potato salad, or top a baked potato with a bit of yogurt and a squeeze of lemon juice," Krieger says. You'll save 4.7 grams of fat per tablespoon. Look for Greek yogurt, which has more protein than other versions.

*Seldom had yogurt but always in my cheesecake....dunno why...*

These tiny fish are the unsung stars of the sea. They are high in protein and loaded with omega-3s, which also help the body maintain muscle. And they're low in mercury and high in calcium, making them a smart fish pick for pregnant women. If the flavor doesn't appeal to you, "soak them in milk for an hour; it will remove any trace of fishiness," Iserloh says.

Eat more "Use sardines in recipes you like that call for anchovies, including Caesar salad and stuffing," Iserloh says. Or make a sardine melt: Toss whole sardines with chopped onions, fresh herbs and diced bell peppers. Put the mixture on top of a slice of pumpernickel or rye bread, cover with a slice of cheddar and broil.

*Only had sardine in a can......it's as good as the real stuff..i think.....*

Tarragon

You can use this herb, a staple in French cooking, in place of salt in marinades and salad dressings. Excess sodium causes your body to retain water, so using less salt can keep bloating at bay. Plus, tarragon lends a sweet, licoricelike flavor to bland foods. (Use the French version of the herb when possible; it's sweeter than other varieties.)

Eat more Rub 2 tbsp dried tarragon on chicken before baking or grilling. Or make a tasty dip by mixing 1 tsp chopped fresh tarragon into 4 oz lowfat plain yogurt and 1 tsp Dijon mustard, recommends Jacquelyn Buchanan, director of culinary development at Laura Chenel's Chèvre, a fromagerie in Sonoma, California.

*Not a really big fan of this particular but goes well with chicken dishes*

Parmesan

Drop that rubbery lowfat cheese and pick up the real stuff. Women who had one serving of whole milk or cheese daily were less likely to gain weight over time, a study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition finds. Lowfat-dairy fans didn't experience the same benefit. Whole dairy may have more conjugated linoleic acid, which might help your body burn fat. "Parmesan is so flavorful, it's easy to stick to one serving," Buchanan says.

Eat more "Grate Parmesan over roasted vegetables," Buchanan offers. Or snack on a 1-ounce portion with an apple or a pear.

*Must have parmesan on everything!!!!!~pizza, spaghetti, roast chicken, etc!!!!! *

Avocado

Don't let the fat content of an avocado (29 grams) scare you—that's what makes it a top weight loss food, Kraus says. "The heart-healthy monounsaturated fat it contains increases satiety," she says. And it's terrific summer party food.

Eat more Add avocado to your sandwich instead of mayo for a creamy texture and a shot of flavor. Avocados do contain a lot of calories, so it's best to watch your portions. They're easy to pack in your lunch and pair with chopped vegetables.

*ME no likey......taste weird*

Olive oil

Like avocados, olive oil has healthy fat that increases satiety, taming your appetite. But that's hardly its only slimming feature. "Research shows it has anti-inflammatory properties," Kraus says. Chronic inflammation in the body is linked to metabolic syndrome.

Eat more Drizzle your salad with olive oil and you'll increase the antioxidant power of your veggies, a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition notes. Or toss pasta with a few teaspoons of olive oil, fresh basil and sautéed garlic, Kraus suggests. Add this oil to your summer menus for a flatter tummy by fall.

*Olive oil producing countries swears by it.....I dun remember which country, most of the olive oil makers drinks a tablespoon or a small cup full of olive oil a day.....*

Eat....can eat lah, but in moderate amount. Don't over do it and then blame me later. Don't forget to exercise because all that energy you take must also be used in some other way, or else where does it all go?? * hint * hint......(think lovehandles, thighs, buns, etc)

Cheers!!!!

The Blue's are in town (again)

Chelsea's coming to Malaysia again......im not really excited about it coz im not really a Chelsea fan.....My favorite color is not blue, if you know what i mean......

Since i got nothing to blog and most of my friends are anti-ManUtd, i say, what the heck.....

This will be their 2nd or 3rd time(i don't remember) coming her......i remember the last time was they were fighting for the FA Premier League Asia Cup or something like that......That was about 5 years ago......they were 3 Premier league that time.......Chelsea, Birmingham and Newcastle.....

Who Won???? Chelsea.... i think.......

I still remember Malaysia played with Chelsea but was thrash 4-1.....not bad compared with a 7-0 trashing from Manchester United a year before that.......but have to give a little credit to Malaysia as that solitary goal was from a set-piece......Chelsea was quite good at countering set-pieces at that time.....

This year, Chelsea's visit to Malaysia was not as welcoming as their previous visits as there were a few controversial issue as Malaysia does not have a diplomatic relationship with Israel....

What is it gotta do with Chelsea???

Chelsea that time are allowed in but not Avram Grant and Tal Ben Haim.....After a few discussions, few strings pulled, they were granted permission......Not that it's still relevant as Avram Grant is gone and i don't think Ben Haim is coming.....

Anyway, to all Chelsea supporters, tickets are available now and if you guys want more info, just visit http://www.ticketpro.com.my/en/akce/detail/51/

Away for a month......

It's been a very loooonnnnnggggg month since i've blog as i don't now what to blog.....There's so much stuff happening and don't what to prioritize.....there's the Anwar's "superpoke", TorresSpain winning the Euro 2008, oil prices touching
USD$ 142.00, Puchong DAP's MP got the marching order because if the Anwar's case, Najib's allegation to the Altantuya's death, some guy name Saiful and so guy name, P. Balasubramaniam (it's funny the Altantuya's case just got heated up then the past year), people celebrating birthdays, (sadly i was not in any....:( ), Blogger's catfight......

WHAT!!!! A CATFIGHT???? WHERE????

YA! it's a feud between Dawn Yang and XiaXue......WOW!! two of the hottest people battling it out on cyberspace!!! A lot of people will pay good money to watch it!!!! Unfortunately, it's just war of words and some ass-licking manager with-his-lawyers fight......More like a handicap match to me....

Too Bad, i thought it'll be like a WWE match-up for the woman's championship title......that would be awesome!!!!

How the catfight started.....

It all started when XiaXue posted a so-called defamatory post saying stuff about Dawn Yang and Dawn didn't like it and using her manager to threaten XiaXue with a lawsuit......It was just a 2- day battle of words(for now....) both having bad points of each other, etc.....

I quite a big fan of XiaXue since i've been following her blog for quite a while....make that since i started blogging through Kenny Sia.... All her emo post, rant post, camwhoring post, more rant post, some hilarious post......it's fun read to read about other people's life coz it's like my daily fix that keeps me alive....apart from food.....

You need an open mind and not offended what she writes.....take it with a pinch of salt...other then than, her writing skill it's........crap! I don't a definition for it, ummmm, out of this world.....

Sometimes, her blog reminds me of Karen's blog, in a good way, of course......the ranting post, that is.......don't sue me ok?....wakakaka

As for Dawn Yang, she's really unknown to me till i read XiaXue's post way back in 2006.....this is the link... Seriously, i really don't know much about her nor even frequent her blog until today....because of the fued, i, Jason Choo, visited her blog for the first time......I giant step for mankind.......

Hope their feud will end and get back to their normal life....Don't know this fight is benefiting whom??? XiaXue, Dawn Yang, Noel(Dawn's manager), Mr. R(allegedly was spotted with Dawn,) KennySia(just for fun....cant think of any other name), or even their sponsors(as they rack it much from the high traffic)????

You all decide.....As my blog is relatively unknown, even to my peers.....i quite free to write anything.......

Cheers......

Government to respond to issues raised in new media, says Najib

By SHAHANAAZ HABIB

KUALA LUMPUR: The Government will respond to issues raised in the new media and post replies to the wild and baseless allegations made on blogs and websites, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“We have decided that being quiet and silent is not an option,” the Deputy Prime Minister said during a question and answer session at the Asia Media Summit 2008.

He acknowledged that the Government had overlooked the impact of engaging the new media during the recent general election which was a new dimension in winning over public opinion.

Admitting that the government-of-the-day had not been savvy in engaging new media so much so that it lost out in cyberspace.

“But we live and learn,” he said.

Najib said it was obvious that the Barisan Nasional government would now need to engage the new media.

“We need to have people who are active participants of the new media, who are sympathetic and understanding of the Government’s position.

“Therefore instead of just criticising them (new media) or running them down, the best thing to do is to engage them. Hopefully they will understand our perspective,” he said.

He added these were the two things that the Government had to do immediately in dealing with the realities of the new media.

To another question, Najib said the Government gave the mainstream and new media a great deal of latitude to criticise them “but there is a line which shouldn’t be crossed” because it could undermine the wider interest of society.

He said the media in trying to clamour for wider readership at times exploited or exaggerated certain issues to get higher readership but the cost was injurious and detrimental to social unity.

Answering a question on action taken against blogger Raja Petra, Najib said he (Raja Petra) was charged with breaking the laws of the country and inciting baseless allegations and making seditious remarks.

He said Raja Petra had been free to criticise the Government “very robustly and stridently” in his blog for years and the Government had never taken any action against him.

“But when certain things he said constitute a very serious attack against the institution, the Attorney-General decided that he crossed the line.

“We are not apologetic and we don’t intend to apologise. That is the way things are in Malaysia. We do allow a lot of criticism much more than many countries but there is a line that you can’t cross,” he added.

He said Raja Petra was not jailed for the charge but spent a day or two in jail because he refused to pay the bail.

“Then he realised it was better to be outside jail so he took the bail,” he said, adding even this was paid for through donations raised for him through the Internet.

Other than the new media, Najib said since the general election the established media too had become more and more critical.

“If you read the newspapers on a daily basis, you will see that they don’t hold their punches even criticising the Government. If they know there are weaknesses or abuse of power anywhere, they will latch on to it and criticise the Government and individuals openly,” he added.

Cheers......

Tribute to Manchester United!!

European Champion's League 2007/2008 Winners
MANCHESTER UNITED!!!!!!
pictures from Soccernet.com

FINALLY!!!!! After almost 8 years of trial and tribulation.........ManU has finally won the Champion's league title for only the third time!!!! And the best part is......ManU has did a "double" by winning the English Premier League Title and, today, the Euro' Champ's league. On top of that ManU did another double on Chelsea by denying them of both the title......Avram Grant could have win it all but lack the experience of high octane matches like this which on the contrary, Sir Alex Ferguson has numerous nail-bitting experience that led ManU what they are today......

Having won everything in his 20 illustrious career at ManU, this is Sir Alex's first win in a penalty shoot-out in the Champion's league. On the other hand the "Yahudi Mabuk"(not being racist, but that what i heard in the background of the mamak i was in just now....kept me laughing like mad with the creativity of our malay friends) Avram Grant just started managing a team only this season......so, to put it in a nutshell, experience does play it's part.....But, good try anyway, Grant.......

The freaking match has full of up's and down's...... it's was tied in the full 90 minutes, 1-1......where Frank Lampard cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo's goal in the dying minutes of half-time......Chelsea was unlucky to get 2 shots of the woodwork which could spell disaster for ManU

Drogba getting a Red Card after "slapping" Nemanja Vidić
pictures from Soccernet.com

It was a silly mistake by the Chelsea striker for not keeping his cool during injury time and got send off by the referee.....too bad : (

Chelsea was dominant for the full 90 minutes as ManU was forced to guard their half for the second half and also the 30 minutes extra time......They has 24 shots on goal while ManU was not even close to that figure.....ManU were like a toothless tiger that time.....

Then came was everyone feared the most........Penalty Shootout!!

ManU started first......... Carlos Tevez took the shot and send the keeper in the wrong direction and 1-0 to Man U

Next up, Michael Ballack.....Edvin Van Der Sar went the other direction....1-1

ManU's turn, Michael Carrick took the shot and Petr Cech couldn't reach it......2-1 to ManU

Juliano Belletti was next for Chelsea, shoots........got the goal on the right side of the net...2-2

What's in a name.....

Do you have any friend, Chinese or Indian who has English name's?? Most of them i presume......
You'll have SamyKristnanVelluNathanKarupillayPratab, but you can call him Steve or Dang Zhi Kai a.k.a Eric.....

Before i elaborate what im trying to voice out, let's have a definition of "name"

NAME
-a word or a combination of words by which a person, place, or thing, a body or class, or any object of thought is designated, called, or known.
-
Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006.-

English names most of my friend has is quite common like, Daniel, Samuel, Timothy, Andrew for the guys and Rebecca, Jeniffer, Rachel, Karen for the girls......

For Indian and Chinese nowadays is quite common to have English name......mainly because of a few factors:-
1) It's easier to pronounce a person by their English name
2) Some of the Indian and Chinese cultural name is tad bit hard to pronounce and it's quite offensive to the person if you say it wrongly
3) Easier to find in facebook and we can spell the name without any hassle
4) Spell checks can't detect our cultural name spellings

Actually, not only Indians and Chinese have English names, but around Asia like Japan, Korea etc, they, too, have pick for themselves these names. For example, Grant Masaru Imahara(It's a person's name, don't believe, go see Mythbusters)

Don't get me wrong, i have no bones to pick on people who have an English name. It's fine for me but up to a certain extend.......What bugs and annoys me, is that you'll have so people who try to be "special" by choosing something unusual to be their name......

The usage of animal, fruits(some of them)names or things/objects like FISH, WATERMELON, ORANGE, TIGER..... Come on!!!! there's gotta be a better name then this!!!!

I have some friends(more like acquaintance) name themselves with fruits......so fruits i can take like Apple or Cherry but Watermelon Leong???? that's gone tooooo far.......

I was thinking a bit shallow about this topic, but then, something struck me, that some of their English name is associated with their cultural names....mainly Chinese......or almost sound the same as the last name....like mine lah.....

If in that case, then, most of this people should pick something you like or that suits you and not worry that it's doesn't fit your cultural name....

By the way, i still cannot
tahan the name Fish Leong. She's a singer born in Malaysia......Dunno why she'll not use her stage name, Jasmine.......Isn't it more sweeter??? it suits more then "Fish".....

Probably is not her fault tho'. Could be her agent or publisher wanted something unique and decided to choose for her "Fish"....good choice......my foot!!!!!

For people who wants to have an English name to add to your cultural name, please choose wisely and try not to take it from inanimate objects because it really does not suit anybody......

Before i end this post, i have a video link on what Chinese people choose for their English name......Quite funny......Thanks to Samanfar and Smacker.......wakakakaka

Mushroom Bloggers

It's been few years (4 years to be exact) i've been blogging.....That time i only knew a handful of my friends like Karen, Jolyn Tan(blog does not exist anymore), who blogged. I started almost the same time as them, only a few months later after them.

NOW, it's becoming a phenomenon as everyone's blogging......Like mushroom after a rainy day.....They keep popping up everywhere......I found out that, almost all my friends are blogging...but, not many stayed or continue to blog.......A lot of them only blog for a certain period of time, then, quit blogging...Kinda sad though, many of them are good and potential bloggers with good and original material.........

Anyway, blogging now has a lot of effects in the mainstream media as blogger's Jeffooi as an example, has become the "REAL voice of the Nation"......Bloggers now has become more and more bold as the internet is not restricted and has the freedom of speech.....The government does not have much power on us bloggers.......We can say almost anything on the cyberspace....

On a related note, many politician and ex-politician are jumping on the blog bandwagon as they have started to post their opinion on the web......For example, our ex-PM, Dr. Mahathir has his own blog........1st day, almost 50k counter hits on his web.......and that is just the beginning....WOW!!! welcome Dr. M to the world of bloggers.

Still waiting if whether Samy Vellu will blog or not as he's quite free after "retiring" from his post.....wakakakaka!!!!

Just wanna touch on this topic as quite a number of my friends have started, quitted and hangat-hangat tahi ayam. Just wanna say that once you started, try not to quit......just keep on blogging.....

Cheers!!!!

Top Ten WORST pick up line

i remember last year i posted a top ten on my blog about Malaysian idol. I thought, what the heck, let do another one........

For today's topic, top ten worst pick up line that people have used before.......

Top Ten WORST pick up line

1. "Hey, I was just thinking of you! Okay, I'm all cleaned up now though."

2. "How would you like your eggs for breakfast: scrambled, boiled or fertilized?"

3."What do you say we go back to my place and do some math? Add the bed, subtract the clothes, divide the legs, and multiply!"

4. "You might as well sleep with me because I'm going to tell everybody we did it anyway."

5."Hey babe, do you know that my bedroom is soundproof?"

6."Oh, I'm sorry, I thought that was a Braille name tag."

7."I just want to tell you that you have a price to pay for being this cute, and I'm here to collect... your phone number, that is."

8."Did you know women are like parking spots? All the good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped. Which are you?"

9."Can I buy you a drink or do you prefer the cash instead?"

10. "If you've lost your virginity, can I have the box it came in?"

So, guys out there, NEVER ever use this pick up lines above as it's damn cheesy, crappy, and girls can sue you for sexual harassment, diminishing woman, etc...

IF you wanna use, t's up to you, don't blame me if you are bitched slap or thrown in prison because of it.....

Cheers!!!!

Double post today....good bye my other "old friend"

Sorry guys for the lack of post as my old computer just "past away" and it's new "predecessor" just came in today from the shop.....

Finally, my old computer, after serving me for more then 8 years.....that's right!! 8 FREAKING LONG YEARS!!!!!!.....i finally retired it......(not putting any pics coz it's too graphical to witness what i've done to my old comp....)

We been through thick and thin, reformat after reformat, fighting malicious virus and worms, ranting writing all my blogs with it, thousands of assignments, projects etc, still....it was my faithful companion until it expired....

That's why today's post is to say farewell to my old, dead computer..... my "freeze for earth day" was the last post i wrote on my old computer.

Now, this post is using my brand new, DIY computer that i gotten from Low Yat just now.....After debugging, reinstalling and reformatting, i finally got it working......what better way to merasmikan this computer by doing a double post to make up for 1 week hiatus....right???

That's all for today, i still need to dig out some files from my old hard disk as some of my material from few weeks' of blog is in side....

Cheers!!!!

A very cute love story.......

An amazing Love Story

He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he so normal, nobody paid attention to him.
At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to being polite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous to say anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me go home.... suddenly he asked the waiter. "would you please give me some salt? I'd like to put it in my coffee."

Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he put the salt in his coffee and drank it.
She asked him curiously; why you have this hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I like playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there". While saying that tears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.

That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tell out his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home.
Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.

They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets all her demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee!

Then the story was just like every beautiful love story , the princess married to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee e, as she knew that's the way he liked it.

After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie. This was the only lie I said to you---the salty coffee.

Remember the first time we dated? I was so nervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt. It was hard for me to change so I just went ahead.I never thought that could be the start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything..

Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anything I do for you.
" Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".

Her tears made the letter totally wet.Someday, someone asked her: what's the taste of salty coffee?
It's sweet. She replied.

Love is not 2 forget but 2 forgive, not 2 c but 2 understand, not 2 hear but 2 listen, not 2 let go but 2 HOLD ON !!!!

Don't ever leave the one you love for the one you like, because the one you like will leave you for the one they love.

Freeze for World Earth Day 2008

April 22 is know around the world as "Earth Day" since 1970. The history was a bit(actually very!!!) lengthy, that i didn't bother to read it......if you guys want more info, you can check wikipedia for it.

As you know, if there's any special day, there bound to be some special events and Earth Day has no exceptions as well. In conjunction with Earth Day, People decided to just "freeze" for 4 minutes. Sounds kinda lame huh???

Actually it's more hilarious then you think. Imagine, you, just walking in a shopping complex or the train station, then at the stroke of the hour, you freeze!!!......

People would be wandering, "what the heck????". As you freeze, you'll see other people's reaction towards your action and thinking, "what is going on???"....You'll actually try not to laugh before the 4 minutes and wanna look at their reactions more.....haha

It's no fun doing it alone. People might think you have just escape from Tanjung Rambutan or something. Do it with a group of people or a crowd. This is more fun and you'll remember to the day you die.......or something exciting happens to you.

There is a reason why people just participate in this event. The reason is that the average person globally uses 2255 Watts of power, or a little less than 23 x100 Watt light bulbs. (www.wattzon.org)

Now that’s a lot of power to be wasting. Imagine if we could Freeze the daily activities of as many people as we can for 5 minutes. That’s a looooottt of power we’re saving for the future generations.

If you guys wanna know more or inquire about future events, just click at the links below:-

To some who are still blur about this event, i'll put a video here of the same event but in another country....
